Meet your host, David.

The alaskan draw…

In 2019, the Air Force moved David to Alaska. In 2022, they asked him to move to Missouri…he respectfully declined.

What drew David to remain in Alaska was more than just its vast beauty. The people of Alaska and the pace of life is unlike anything else in the world. The lower-48 (what we call the contiguous US) is often filled with noise and busy anxiety. Alaska naturally silences much of the chaos. This foundation of peace and proximity to nature is what keeps David in Alaska and what ultimately drives him to share this place with others.

For David, hospitality means more than simply clean sheets. It means to ensure everyone who comes through Hatcher Pass Cabins feels seen and loved. Through his years in Alaska, David has served in a variety of roles, but all had the common theme of getting people to Alaska and providing unforgettable experiences. In the winter you’ll likely find him skiing and in the summer he’ll likely be mountain biking or fishing.

Beyond the cabins, David’s primary mission in Alaska is to facilitate the advance of the Gospel through local hospitality, missionary networking, wilderness retreats, and ecumenical dialogue.

A New Adventure

In April of 2026, David took ownership of Hatcher Pass Cabins. We are beyond grateful to the previous owners, Natalie and Jeff, who dedicated many years of love to HPC. David will carry on their dedication to visitors and love for the local Mat-Su community.

Stay tuned. We have many good things in store for Hatcher Pass Cabins! We look forward to your stay.

Cheers.
